TC Young Welcomes New Trainees

TC Young Welcomes New Trainees

TC Young has welcomed 6 new Trainee Solicitors to its training programme, across our Glasgow & Edinburgh offices. This brings the number of Trainee Solicitors currently with the firm up to 10.

The new Trainees are Chloe Mather (Family, Edinburgh), Olivia Smith (Private Client, Edinburgh), Lewis Marchand (Residential Conveyancing, Glasgow), Rory Guild (Property, Edinburgh), Paulette Campbell (Property, Glasgow) & Spencer Wilson (Private Client, Glasgow).

Embarking upon her Traineeship with the firm, Olivia Smith commented:

“Having spent the previous year working at TC Young as an Admin Assistant, following the completion of my studies, I knew that this was the perfect environment for me to continue my development. I have seen firsthand the firms commitment to developing from within, having worked closely with a number of colleagues who have themselves completed their traineeships with the firm and gone on to work their way up the ranks.”

Speaking about the latest cohort of Trainees starting Andrew Cowan, Managing Partner said:

“I am delighted to welcome our 2024 intake of Trainees to TC Young. Our training programme has a long-standing reputation for producing highly skilled and well-rounded solicitors. We are confident that our new Trainees will make significant contributions to both our firm and the wider legal community in Scotland.

It is hoped that many of them will continue their careers with us beyond qualification. Just a few months ago for instance, previous Trainees Eileen Barr & Sarah Jamieson were promoted to the positions of Senior Associate & Senior Solicitor respectively, which gives us confidence we are developing future leaders and illustrates to our 2024 intake the opportunities available to them here at TC Young.”

The Trainees started life at TC Young with an induction day at the Strathclyde University Training and Innovation Centre, which gave them the opportunity to meet Partners & Senior Solicitors, listen to presentations from each department giving a better insight into what they do day to day and an insight into the firms future growth and development plans.
