Bio
Rory Guild is a Trainee Solicitor at TC Young working in the Edinburgh Property Team since joining the firm in September 2024. He graduated from the University of Dundee in 2023 with first class honours and completed his Diploma in Professional Legal Practice in 2024.
While at university Rory volunteered and took part in work experience at several firms, where he had insight into the practical application of his degree and learned skills that he utilises in his work at TC Young.
Rory works alongside and supports the solicitors in the Edinburgh Property Team to assist clients with a wide variety of commercial property matters.
Rory has gained experience in examining both Sasine and Land Registered Title Deeds and providing advice to clients on maintenance and factoring obligations, reporting to clients on the obligations outlined in their title deeds and advising how best to approach the repair and maintenance of shared boundary features. In addition, Rory has undertaken the sale of properties on behalf of clients, effectively managing the transaction from offer stage through to settlement. Rory has assisted with large scale title deed examinations for a number of clients to identify properties which are subject to standard securities and thereafter completing the drafting and registration of any required discharge of Standard Securities in the Sasine and Land Register, together with preparation of any necessary paperwork to remove securities from Companies House.
Rory continues to gain experience in all elements of commercial property transactions as he progresses through his traineeship.
Outside of work, Rory enjoys tennis, squash, wild swimming and camping
