Bio

Nina Derrin is an Associate within our Family Law team, having practiced primarily in the field of child and family law since qualifying as a solicitor in 2017. She provides advice in relation to all aspects of Family Law, with a focus on resolving financial and child-related matters following a separation.

Nina understands the issues faced when a couple separate or divorce. She is able to provide clear, practical and reliable advice in relation to arrangements for children, as well as any financial outcome to be achieved.

Providing advice specific to her client’s particular circumstances, Nina prioritises guiding clients through what can be a very difficult and emotional process. Whilst her approach is to encourage negotiation wherever possible, Nina also has a wealth of experience representing her clients in court. As a result, she is well placed to advise clients frankly about the factors to consider when contemplating litigation.

Nina is frequently appointed by the Court as a Child Welfare Reporter in contentious cases in which the welfare of a child or children is being considered. Nina is also accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Family Law Mediator, and is a member of the Family Law Association.

Above all, Nina will apply her experience to provide advice designed to achieve the best outcome for her clients.
