Nicky Brechany is a Solicitor and Notary Public in our litigation department and is based in our Glasgow office. Nicky works between our Private Rented Sector team and our Registered Social Landlord team.
Nicky graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2021 and obtained her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from the University of Strathclyde in 2022.
Nicky started her career at TC Young as a Trainee Solicitor and qualified in June 2024. Prior to this, she worked in law firms on a part-time basis whilst studying. This allowed her to develop a client-centre approach which she keeps at the forefront throughout dealing with cases.
Nicky regularly provides advice to landlords and housing associations in relation to a variety of housing and tenancy issues including rent arrears, antisocial behaviour, condition, repairs, and debt recovery actions.
Nicky also has experience appearing in Sheriff Courts in actions relating to all eviction grounds, as well as the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (Housing and Property Chamber) in relation to eviction and payment proceedings. Nicky has developed a good understanding of the court and tribunal processes and is able to advise clients on proceedings and what to expect before, during and after the action.
Nicky is a member of the Law Society of Scotland and regularly attends training sessions relating to housing law.
