Bio
Fiona Spowart is a Solicitor and Notary Public in our Private Client department and is based in our Glasgow Office. She joined TC Young in February 2022 as a Trainee Solicitor and qualified in February 2024, following the completion of her Law Degree and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh.
Since joining the firm, Fiona has worked exclusively within the Private Client department advising clients on a range of matters including Wills, Power of Attorneys, Trusts and the administration of estates. She regularly advises clients on estate administration, guiding families through complex executry matters, and has a particular interest in providing Inheritance Tax advice. Fiona also has a developing knowledge of Trust matters, including compliance changes for Non-Taxable Trusts registering with HMRC and the impact of the introduction of the Register of Persons Holding a Controlled Interest in Land (RCI) on Trusts.
Fiona is currently working towards obtaining Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) qualifications to build her ability to provide clients with practical advice tailored to their personal circumstances.
