Claire Mullen is a Senior Associate with over 14 years experience specialising in the provision of legal advice in respect of residential tenancy litigation matters.
Claire holds a law degree from the University of Strathclyde and a Diploma in Legal Practice. She is recognised by the Law Society of Scotland as an Accredited Specialist in Housing and Residential Tenancy Law.
With over 14 years experience, Claire is an integral part of the team dealing with all types of housing law related matters. In addition to her Registered Social Landlord related work, she leads our First-tier Tribunal team dealing with both the Private Rented Sector team and Property Factor Complaints.
In addition to recognising the importance of achieving a successful outcome Claire is acutely aware of a client’s need to be informed and she has been commended for “always being available to give staff advice and provide immediate updates”.
She is able to advise clients on a range of housing issues including all areas of tenancy law, eviction actions, rent arrears, matters of succession, repairs, debt recovery actions, sequestration and antisocial behaviour.
As well as advising on housing law issues, Claire has experience in the court and/or First-tier Tribunal (Housing and Property Chamber) involving debt recovery, evictions, rent arrears and sequestrations from taking initial instructions, negotiating terms of settlement and appearing in court/Tribunal in disputed actions. She has a thorough understanding of both procedures and is able to give clients practical advice on how each process works.
Claire provides advice on Private Rented Sector legislation and leads training on tenancy matters for Landlord Accreditation Scotland.
In addition, Claire is also the current Chairwoman of SafeDeposits Scotland Charitable Trust
Outside of work, Claire enjoys spending time with her family. She is enthusiastic about fitness and decorating her home. She spends far too much time on social media scrolling for new workouts or décor inspiration.
