TC Young are delighted to announce that Evelyn Wallace, Associate, has recently attained accreditation with the Law Society of Scotland as a Family Law Mediator.
Family mediation accreditation from the Law Society of Scotland is only granted once a solicitor has undertaken and completed the required rigorous training and has been assessed by a Panel of mediation experts. This accreditation complements Evelyn’s achievement last year in becoming accredited in trauma informed practice.
Mediation is a voluntary process which aims to provide disputing parties the opportunity to ventilate issues and work towards decisions themselves that will resolve matters for the benefit of them and their children. Family law mediation is an alternative dispute resolution method to deal with child related or financial issues arising from separation or divorce and can, when successful, remove the need for court intervention.
Evelyn commented "I am delighted to receive this recognition from the Law Society of Scotland, which bolsters my existing accreditation in trauma informed practice. It is the culmination of a lot of hard work and extensive training but it has all been extremely worthwhile and I hope my clients will gain from my expertise."
Lynne Collingham, Partner, added:
“I am delighted to see Evelyn successfully achieve this accreditation, which is thoroughly deserved and underlines our firm’s commitment to training and development and to providing the best range of services for our clients.”
This latest accreditation takes the number of accredited mediators within the TC Young Family Law team up to 3, with Evelyn joining Nina Derrin (Associate) & Vivien Riddell (Senior Solicitor).
